Hack on a Tesla Model S, get free food and swag, win prizes!!
The deadline to apply is: 1/18/2019.
We’re excited to announce that .dev is partnering with Smartcar, a Bay Area startup, to present to you Northwestern’s first ever car API hackathon. Come join us for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build with Smartcar technology and reimagine the future of mobility by building apps for cars.
Smartcar allows apps to communicate with connected cars. Their API makes it easy and secure for developers to integrate mobile and web apps with vehicles across car brands, without the need for hardware. On the Smartcar platform, developers can build apps for car sharing, fleet management, insurance, fuel delivery, car wash, and many more use cases.
You will be hacking with the Smartcar API and testing your code on a real Tesla Model S that our team will have onsite. There will be mentors running workshops to help participants familiarize themselves with it as well.
The winners and runner-ups will receive prizes, including Google Home minis, and a place in Smartcar's Garage Program (https://blog.smartcar.com/smartcar-garage-adf7d07dc46d), which gives early stage developers the resources to build their app for free!
